Poetry is literary work in which the expression of feelings and ideas is given intensity by the use of distinctive style and rhythm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poetry<\/strong>\u00a0(from the\u00a0Greek<\/a>\u00a0word\u00a0poiesis<\/a><\/em>, “making”) is a form of\u00a0literary art<\/a>\u00a0that uses\u00a0aesthetic<\/a>\u00a0and often\u00a0rhythmic<\/a>\u00a0qualities of\u00a0language<\/a>\u00a0to evoke\u00a0meanings<\/a>\u00a0in addition to, or in place of,\u00a0literal<\/a>\u00a0or surface-level meanings. Any particular instance of poetry is called a\u00a0poem<\/strong>\u00a0and is written by a\u00a0poet<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
